How to Use Our Free Saju Calculator: Step-by-Step Guide
Getting a Saju reading used to mean booking time with a professional reader. Now it takes about a minute, for free. Here's exactly how to use it and what each part of your result means.
Step 1: Get your exact birth information ready
- Birth date (year, month, day)
- Birth time — as exact as possible. Saju is calculated down to the two-hour block you were born in, so "sometime in the morning" isn't precise enough. Check your birth certificate or ask a parent if you're not sure.
- Birth location (some calculators use this to adjust for time zone/solar time)
Step 2: Enter your details into the calculator
Go to the Saju calculator and fill in the birth date, time, and (if asked) location fields, then submit.
Step 3: Read your Four Pillars chart
Your result will show four pillars — Year, Month, Day, and Hour — each with a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Here's the quick way to read it:
- Day Pillar — this is considered the core of who you are. Its stem is your "Day Master," the central element that the rest of your chart is read against.
- Year Pillar — often linked to family background and early life.
- Month Pillar — linked to your career and social environment.
- Hour Pillar — linked to later life, children, and inner desires.
Step 4: Check your Five Elements balance
Your chart will also show how much Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water appear across your eight characters. A chart heavy in one element (say, a lot of Fire) is often read as that element's traits — passion, temper, energy — showing up strongly in your personality. A chart missing an element entirely is sometimes read as a gap worth being aware of.
Step 5: Don't overthink the "bad" results
If your chart flags clashing elements or a difficult combination, that's not a warning — it's traditionally read as a description of tension to be aware of, not a prediction of doom. Treat it the way you'd treat any personality framework: useful if it resonates, ignorable if it doesn't.
